What's happening - February 2012:
For anyone wishing to find out more about what it means to be a Christian, the new Christianity Explored course began on Tuesday 31 January at 8pm at the vicarage (16 Christchurch Road). It's still not too late to come along if you missed the first session. The next session takes place on Tuesday 7th February at 7.45pm.
Calling all children of primary school age! Holiday Club is running in Half Term from Tuesday 14th till Friday 17th February as a joint venture between Christ Church and the Baptist Church. Sessions will run from 10pm to midday at the Baptist Church in Main Road, Sidcup. It promises to be a fun time of games, craft, music, teaching and competitions. There's a daily cost of £1 per day and Sarah Moore and Helen Young have more details if you need them.
For the five Wednedays of Lent, commencing Wednesday 29th February, Churches Together in Sidcup are planning to hold soup and bread lunches. Christ Church will be hosting the first one and if you could help by providing food or serving, please speak to Pamela Steed on 020 8850 1570 or jandpsteed@btinternet.com.
Also starting Wed 29th February, we are running a five week course on understanding the Bible and sharing it confidently. Entitled "Reading the Bible to share it", it is taking place in the Fellowship Rooms every Wednesday throughout Lent. Any church member is welcome. If you would like to attend, please let Pamela Steed know on 020 8850 1570 or jandpsteed@btinternet.com. More details are available from Tom Parsons on 020 8308 0835 or tjparsons@tiscali.co.uk.
Whether you're joining in for the 'fun' or you'd just like to 'run', the Christ Church Parish Boundary Fun Run 2012 is coming up on Saturday 24 March at 2 pm. Time to start that training, then! The proceeds this year are going to Water Aid. Click here for further information or to download an entry form, publicity flyer or route map.
The APCM (Annual Parochial Church Meeting) takes place after the morning service on Sunday 22nd April. Would group leaders kindly submit their reports, preferably by e-mail, to Alison Summers by Sunday 26th February.
